Dates[edit]

This article needs information regarding the time frame when the IL-102 was developed. There should be some "important dates" or something of a similar nature in the article. Some guy (talk) 09:04, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The German article has dates reanging from 1967-1987, with first flight in 1982. Unfortunatly, neither the English or German article has any sources, so I'll try to track some down in the next few days. - BillCJ (talk) 09:24, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gun turret[edit]

"It was highly unusual for its time in having a rear gun turret, something not seen in ground attack aircraft since the World War II Il-2 Shturmovik and Il-10"

Well, that depends on how you define ground attack aircraft, and also on the country of origin. But my point in writing is that I've read that, in the conflict in Afghanistan, the crews of Il-28 "Beagle"s found their tail turrets to be quite useful in 'hosing down' Mujaheddein forces after passing over them on a bombing run. Therefore indicating that perhaps the presence of a rear turret was, perhaps is?, not as much of an anachronistic relic as it appears at first glance... - The Bushranger (talk) 21:19, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Photos are very weak[edit]

The article's photos are very weak. These sites: [Il-1], [Il-2] and www.aviastar.org/air/russia/il-102.php have better photos. Su-25 won and Ilyushin Il-102 lost.Agre22 (talk) 00:51, 23 November 2009 (UTC)agre22[reply]

Uh, thanks. Those photos are copyrighted, so WP can't legally use them. Sorry. - BilCat (talk) 01:07, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
