Translation[edit]

This translation, while it rhymes and scans, is very bad, very careless with the meaning. And unsourced. May I change it? Do I need to find and source the replacement, or can I just translate it myself, with greater attention to what the words actually mean? Please advise. How about if I just use google translate? A poetic singable translation will by definition never convey the meaning of every word of the original. Instead, it shows the general sentiment. Despite asking for advice, you immediately replaced that version with your translation. I did invite you to revert if my edit was inappropriate! And, you're right, of course, that a poetic translation cannot be exactly accurate, but come on!--"Sweet are the tears that chasten, yet grieve not those who part"?!? There's nothing remotely like that in the text--no "sweet", no "chasten", no general musing on the nature of tears, no "grieve not", no "those who part".
