An online text on the Internet Archive website of the July 1943 edition of The Newton Graphic says, "Hugh Calkins, son of Mr. Grosvenor Calkins of 49 Farlow rd., Newton, has entered the Army Air Forces Technical School at Yale University where he will undergo intensive training pointed toward his becoming a technical officer in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering with the rank of second lieutenant." Also, page 504 of Harvard Alumni Bulletin, Volume 48, Issue 12, 1946 says, "Hugh Calkins, now reported a Captain in the Air Force, has been stationed for some time at the Guam Air Depot". With these sources, I will add rank of captain. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 15:52, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
