Untitled[edit]

Note: I am the son of Howard Ensign Evans (Timothy H. Evans, ensign58). The photo of H.E. Evans is owned by my family. I downloaded the photo into wikimedia commons but can't figure out how to prove ownership on this wikipedia page. I hope the photo isn't deleted. Re Early Life Section[edit]

There are NO citations for the biographical info in this section. Perhaps it was written by family? (@Ensign58 perhaps?) While definitely interesting and well-written, it needs a citation to published work(s), otherwise this falls into the Primary Source category, which isn't allowed in Wikipedia (as there's no way to verify or fact check such statements). For family members, I'm sure this is very frustrating, as you are certain "experts" about the life of this person. Nonetheless, it's unverifiable.

I'm not proposing instant deletion, but I'm hoping Ensign58 sees this and can add citations from his family's personal materials (say, Alumni Newsletters, etc.). Thanks! Cynthisa (talk) 23:58, 1 August 2017 (UTC) Cynthisa (talk) 23:58, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

expatriate in Newfoundland[edit]

Evans seems to have spent significant time in Newfoundland when it was the Dominion of Newfoundland and not yet part of Canada. This would suggest he belongs in Category:American expatriates in Newfoundland or Category:American expatriates in the Dominion of Newfoundland, neither of which yet exists.John Pack Lambert (talk) 16:11, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
