Any ancestors from Fürth?[edit]

Why is this article sorted to category "People from Fürth"? I can't see any link between Hilton family and the city of Fürth? -- FuertherBier (talk) 15:19, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

clarification needed[edit]

User HiltonFamilyTree[edit]

You have now used up your three reverts in a 24 hour period, attempting to edit this article with content that falls foul of several Wikipedia policies, including but not limited to: conflict of interest, copy-and-paste from source & original research via self-publication. Please will you stop this and talk about how we can resolve the situation. Thanks. - Sitush (talk)

Have you even read the edits submitted to the Hilton Family page? The Conrad Hilton Line is only one of 4 distinct Hilton Family lines in the US and the wideWorld. The edits are original information submitted by me and pasted from my original articles. I am the author. You should welcome positive input from legitimate sources. I happen to be an expert in Hilton Family Geneology. There is not conflict of interest,--a published Hilton Family author. Since I earn no income from this input and the sites referenced earn no income that could be considered a conflict of interest, this input should not be labeled as such. We can resolve this by allowing equal access by other Hilton DNA lines. The hilton family includes a mayflower passenger, the founder of New Hampshire, Abraham helton - a famous Cherokee chief and Peter Helton an illustrious wealthy found of North carolina. Supressing access to this information Hilton Family heritage and focusing all info on Conrad Hilton is an injustice to the name Hiltonfamilytree (talk) 17:19, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am afraid that it doesn't work like that. In fact, now that you have admitted it to be your own research etc, it is definitely a Wikipedia no-no. Sorry, but that is how it is. There are various rules, some of which are detailed via the links in the "welcome" message on your talk page, and unfortunately you have breached quite a few of them.
It is frustrating, I know, but there is a method in the seeming madness of all these policies. I'd urge you to revert your edit (put "self-revert" in the edit summary box where you give your reason), read some of the introductory bumpf and then consider how the issue could be addressed. Feel free to contact me for clarification or, indeed, anything else. Once you get the hang of it, this place is fascinating. And no-one expects a "newbie" to know all the rules - just to be prepared to accumulate some of that knowledge and work in a constructive, communal way rather than ploughing one's own furrow regardless. Best wishes and thanks for replying - Sitush (talk) 17:56, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, could I just add that in my opinion this article should not exist at all. It breaches the policy WP:NOTDIR (click on the blue link to read the policy). This really is very unfortunate and I do feel sorry for the situation, but unless I am grossly misunderstanding things it looks to me like your first experience has been/will be an unhappy one. Please do persevere: even the most experienced Wikipedians get it wrong from time to time (and I get it wrong a lot more frequently). - Sitush (talk) 18:35, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Are worth?[edit]

Families are not worth only the money they have. Can’t we just write “they HAVE 14 billion dollars”? 82.36.70.45 (talk) 01:24, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
