It's Hersiana Matmuja[edit]

I'm a native Albanian speaker, her name is Hersiana Matmuja not "Herciana" Matmuja. She has said it herself in many interviews. Her nickname is Hersi for short as we Albanians have nicknames. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eurovizioni (talkcontribs) 08:58, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Read the discussion above to find out why we can not change the name at this point. And by the way, do not change the articles name or name inside the article until any kind of consensus. --BabbaQ (talk) 10:53, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page protected for three days[edit]

I've protected this talk page for three days, since this issue has been resolved per the agreement above and nothing productive is happening here. After three days the talk page will be unprotected, but I don't want to see any further mudslinging then. While I am technically involved, I decided not to defer this to another admin since I knew there was a good chance that he or she would simply start handing out blocks. Since I know your all normally good contributors I didn't want to go there. I also decided not to go to WP:ANI since I can see the fighting just moving over there. That said, if this goes on then I might have to change my mind. You are all established users – please respect WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA. These are policies. I'm not getting into a debate on who started it or who is the worst offender but I will say that just because someone has attacked you or been incivil towards you doesn't make it okay to do it back. We are all here for the same reason – to build an encyclopedia. If any edit you make doesn't help that goal, please don't click save.

If you want to start a discussion about the article on this talk page, please leave a note at User talk:CT Cooper. Any comments about my actions, and only my actions, can also be addressed there. CT Cooper · talk 15:47, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Enough with Herciana! Her birth name is Hersiana, and her stage name is Hersi![edit]

Enough with the useless "Herciana" issue! There is no Herciana in Albanian. RTSH must have made a mistake in the graphics (like they usually do - One of the contestants' name was Lindi, they got rid of the I, and simply let Lind Islami - which is not his real name), because her birth name is Hersiana, with a "S".

She has always been presented with the name "Hersi" or "Hersi Matmuja" to the Albanian audience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PjeterPeter (talkcontribs) 10:00, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Be bold and have a look at requested moves. -- [[ axg //  ]] 13:29, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Edit: I've just seen you tried to move the page my cutting and pasting, this is highly undesirable. -- [[ axg //  ]] 13:34, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes you are right, enough. Enough of these endless attempts to change her name from Herciana to Hersiana via the wrong ways. It will only be reverted anyway. Do it through the right moves. --BabbaQ (talk) 17:43, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
To be clarify the current situation, the article will only be moved if and when there is a clear talk page consensus. There isn't at the moment. CT Cooper · talk 00:18, 11 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
And, in your opinion, how can we reach a consensus? Examining the sources showed or deciding that what you and few other people say is the only truth? Apart from all the sources already showed in the past, after seeing this do you still need other sources? Some of you said that in March we have been able to discuss about the issue with more reliable sources, now we are almost in May and are still blocked on what we said in January... But have you thought only for a moment that this singer has participated five times in the Festivali i Këngës: for the first four times she has been always presented as Hersi and now, for an only time that she has been presented (for an error of the TV graphics) as Herciana, you have decided that this is her right name? This thing is very ridiculous to read on an encyclopedia... --ale83_webmaster (talk) 16:25, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have not given an opinion at any point on how her name should be. My only involvement in this case has been to uphold policy and to stop edit/move warring. The article title is currently locked, but the discussion is not. If you can convince other people of your case, then the page will be moved. I would suggest following the advice given earlier and file a requested move in order to revive the discussion. If you don't know how to do this, I can do it procedurally on your behalf. CT Cooper · talk 21:58, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Now that's been clarified which was the right title to give to this page, should also the singer's birth name been corrected to the right version? Seeing, among the others, these sources (a tweet in which she says what's her name, a photo of her boarding pass for the fly to Copenhagen and several official documents from the Conservatory where she studies in Rome), should her birth name been corrected to Hersjana? --ale83_webmaster (talk) 23:46, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No one cares anymore she failed to make it to the final and is history. Do as you please. :)--BabbaQ (talk) 12:20, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

The result of the move request was: page moved. Armbrust The Homunculus 22:13, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Herciana MatmujaHersi Matmuja – As it has been discussed for a long time (see also the archived talk page), I ask to move this page to the name by which this singer is much better known. Then I'd also specify in the article that her real birth name is Hersjana Matmuja (see for example all the several official documents from the website of the conservatory where she studies or the name of her official Twitter account). All the other versions (Herciana, Hersiana, etc.) are only ortographic errors for what I know and no one reliable source prove the contrary. ale83_webmaster (talk) 18:07, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Any other doubt about which is her real birth name? Here you are her boarding pass of the fly to Copenhagen! Do you still need something else to correct the title and the infos in the page? --ale83_webmaster (talk) 21:32, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, prominently known by short name. -- [[ axg //  ]] 21:43, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, we said back when we were discussing the title of the page that in April/May, when we see what name Matmuja will be performing under, we'll change the title accordingly. Matmuja is known to be performing as "Hersi" so the page should be renamed that way. Jjj1238 (talk) 21:49, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, there is indisputable proof/sources regarding the name and any doubts should be cleared up by now. Pickette (talk) 23:22, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support I am at the Eurovision Song Contest, and I just interviewed Hersi (for Wikipedia) and she said "My name is wrong on Wikipedia!". She said it's spelled with an s. -abbedabbtalk 16:26, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - I think that we have cleared the naming issue now. Not thanks to any of the drama queens that has destroyed this talk page throughout the last several months but by the logic used from the start. Now she is performing as Hersi. Just for the record I think the nominators behaviour concerning this name change has been the only thing that is ridiculous. Next time listen to the advice given you instead of acting like a spoiled child. --BabbaQ (talk) 12:05, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Just for the record, I only showed tens of sources demonstrating which is the singer's right name (as I have done now with this two new sources), who made a drama here was someone else... At some point I completely avoided to reply to the discussion and nevertheless now I see that it has gone on for weeks, but always talking about me and not about the topic. And even now I think it's better not to reply to your useless provocations! --ale83_webmaster (talk) 23:51, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Move on. Truth hurts I guess. Oh, and please before making any more comments take a look at your contribution list for the last 3 months. I rest me case LOL. Drama drama drama... --BabbaQ (talk) 20:11, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
