Hundreds if not thousands of companies would fall under WikiProject Organizations, but most aren't major enough to get their own article. You should have consulted with "Requested Articles", and ask if this is notable enough. Yojimbo501 (talk) 19:35, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is not terribly relevant, but single payor is probably not a part of the cure. The Japanese healthcare system is a universal system. Their child mortality and longevity are a bit better than in the U.S. while their per capita cost is lower. BUT it isn't single payor. The concept of single payor rises from a misunderstanding and mistrust of the insurance business. While you may not trust an individual insuror, the business model is reasonably efficient. The Japanese system allows a small governmental unit to provide insurance as well as a trade union or an employer. I may not have it completely right, but there was a paper in Science over ten years ago that was written by an actuary.
