Building date[edit]

Based on the following, Victory and Hawke appear to be parts of the same troop. The boatshed was erected after Nov 1928. Prior to that, both parts met at separate facilities. Victory on at least one occasion used a boatshed at Herne Bay Beach (not Cox's Creek).

I think there might have been an error made in 30 Nov 1928 as all other references to the boat shed at Coxs Bay are to Hawke Sea Scouts. It is possible that the two groups combined at a later date, given their closeness geographically, and that they are undertaking joint activities on Hawke Sea Scouts' land on Pine Island.

Hi @Ewhite31 You are absolutely correct that the two groups were different. To clear up the discrepancy regarding the date of building the first boatshed on Coxs Bay, Hawke advised that the structure was initially erected without permission from the council (apparently not unusual in the NZ context at the time) and permission was granted retroactively later in the year.
