HatsHats (disambiguation) – Per WP:PRIMARY TOPIC and WP:PLURAL, by far the most prominent meaning of "hats" is as the plural of Hat. Move this page so that Hats can redirect to Hat. bd2412 T 14:15, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support and merge Hat (disambiguation) and Hats (disambiguation) if needed? In ictu oculi (talk) 15:55, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Ironically I've worked with Histone acetyltransferases. I will still, however, support. NickCT (talk) 18:42, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose- No indication that the singular is what a reader is most likely to be looking for if they search on the plural. Yes, in conversation the headgear is the most common usage of "hats", but that's not the question here. The current Hats dab page seems useful and appropriate. PamD 21:07, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • Shouldn't the burden be on proving that the plural form of a common noun does not primarily refer to the common noun? Here, there does not seem to be much competition. The "hats" in the six thinking strategies are metaphorical examples of a hat. The obsolete Swedish political party and the album are both obscure. The cymbal is a borderline WP:PTM, and the enzyme is "HATs", not "Hats" (the variation HATs could and should redirect to the enzyme). bd2412 T 21:25, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. In the world at large, plurals are frequently used to indicate groups and classes, and this is a group/class of object. It is solely Wikipedia convention that we use singulars as article titles instead of plurals, this does not mean the plural's primary topic is not also the same group/class as Wikipedia convention makes named in singular form. -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 05:39, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
