Guiseley / Harry Ramsden etc.[edit]

The article on Guiseley claims that Corbett married Harry Ramsden's daughter and conceived (sic) Sooty in the town. This article claims that Corbett was Ramsden's nephew and found the Sooty puppet in Blackpool. It is possible that both statements about Corbett's relation to Ramsden are true (implying that he married his own first cousin) but the statements about the genesis of Sooty appear contradictory to me. It is widely known that the Sooty puppet was discovered in 1948 by a young Harry Corbett, on Blackpool's North Pier. It would appear the contradictory page is incorrect for the origin, however there may be an alternative meaning. The genesis of the puppet (and the name "Sooty" - which was named by his mother) was from Blackpool. DanielWhit (talk) 18:37, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nickname of Harry Corbett's wife[edit]

Somebody apparently thought that Harry's wife was nicknamed "Toad". According to this: http://sooty.wikia.com/wiki/Marjorie_Corbett her nickname was 'Tobes', short for Toby jug. Not a great improvement, but there you go. I've amended article accordingly. Revera (talk) 17:13, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
