Improvements[edit]

I have completed the B class checklist and feel that this article could be improved by addressing the following issues:

  • Referencing: in line citations could be added to assist in the verification process. This is essential for a successful B class rating. A rule of thumb is at least one per paragraph, more if more than one source was used, or if there are multiple assertions that might be challenged if not backed up by an in line citation;
  • Grammar: the article needs a few tweaks for grammar. Use of '&' in a sentence is not usually preferred under the WP:MOS, additionally some of the wording might be tightened, e.g. '855th Guard squadron...would occupy'. This is a bit cumbersome and perhaps could be improved by saying '855th Guard squadron...occupied'. This would also serve to fix any tense issues that might exist.

Just a few ideas. Once you have done these, you might like to seek re-assessment. This can be done at WP:MHA, or if you would like further input on possible improvements, go to WP:MHPR. Hope this helps. AustralianRupert (talk) 04:48, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Distances[edit]

These quotes appear in the 'History' section: "The nearest town is South Newport, six miles to the west", (para 1), and "the closest town of any significance, Brunswick was 45 miles away", (para 4). This article also mentions the airfield "being about 30 miles southwest of Savannah." I've only visited Savannah once, but surely it was around in the 1940s and wasn't it bigger then than Brunswick ?
