Removal of Web Page Link[edit]

Jeremy A I see you are an admin. So I guess you must know your stuff in removing the link to the web page. May I know what the problem is? It's not my page. It's just that it seems more useful having it included than taking it out. What's the WP on this one? Cheers. hjuk (talk) 23:02, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the link because an encyclopedia article should not include adverts for websites within the main body of the article. Furthermore, the page linked to was the main page of the website, not the page about the Harringay Racers. If the page on the Harringay Racers is considered to provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a Featured article (per WP:EL) then it should be added in a seperate 'External links' section rather than in the main body of the article. —Jeremy (talk) 23:48, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
