WP:VG Assessment[edit]

There seems to be very little information in this article. It could be presented in a much better way. Here are some ideas to help:

  • There are too few sources. See WP:CITE.
  • Depending on the amount of information available, video game articles can usually be covered with Gameplay (the game's mechanics and structure), Story (including characters, setting and plot), Critical Reception (the praise/criticism the game received) and Development (when the game was announced, it went gold, demos, patches etc) sections. Look at some video game featured articles to get a better idea. If there's something else notable about the game then you should also include this, in its own section if necessary.
  • The lists need to be converted into prose.
  • The "Battle" section should be in the gameplay section, along with some details in the Features section (see below). Much more information would need to be given in such a section.
  • Information on the Limited Edition should be included in a Development/Releases section. The "features" section does not tell me anything about the gameplay mechanics - you'll need to provide this as it's arguably the most important part of a video game article.
  • The story section detailing the plot in incomplete. Only the background details have been provided.
  • The characters section is poor. Have a look at FF7#Plot for a good example of character and setting sections.
  • Get some screenshots showing what the game is like to play.
  • You need to include a fair use rationale for the box art and any screenshots. See WP:FURG.
  • The lead section is too short. See WP:LS.

Stub-class, low importance. Hope this helps, UnaLaguna 14:40, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I'll try to look into all of that. It's really hard though when the game hasn't been released in North America, as I can only go by what little bits the media gives me. Thanks for your time. Sima Yi 15:58, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am new around here. I have play through the game and can provide information on various aspects of the game. However, I am unfamiliar with Wikipedia syntax and citation requirements. Will I need to provide precise citation for all the information that I insert or can I simply add them based on information given directly in the game? Mystery Origin 11:34, 12 October 2007

Welcome! Though what you know about the game may be completely accurate, you are unlikely to qualify as a reliable source. This means you need to provide citations for pretty much anything you say. WP:EDIT has some basic information for edit syntax, and the infobox along the top-left of the page should provide links to anything which you need to know. Fanille's parents[edit]

Her entry states that she moved to Neylern with her aunt after something happened regarding her parents. However, in the game, Fanille says this: "My mother died before I could walk or talk, and I lost my father two years ago." She could not have moved to Jaergen only two years ago, as in the next line she describes Elessa, a Neylern who grew up in Jaergen, as her childhood friend.

The pertinent line occurs when talking to Fanille during the party's first trip to Felmentia. Possibly it can be missed if the hero gives insensitive or rude replies. Silmina 02:50, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
