Sourcing[edit]

I've had to remove some references and tag the article, so it seems I should explain why here. But first, I have no doubt that Banaszak is a significant musician, and that this biography is a good fit for Wikipedia. My concerns were only with the sources being used, and don't indicate any wish to take this to a deletion discussion (I mention this as sometimes tags are used as a prelude to deletion, and that wasn't my intent here).

As to the sources: many of the references weren't really references, so much as links to the websites of the organisations mentioned. Accordingly there was nothing in the links to support the claims in the article. For example, the claim that "Banaszak serves on the faculties of the Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory" was referenced to http://www.bw.edu/, which is the front page of the university. Accordingly it didn't mention anything about Banaszak. As a new reference would be needed I took out the old one, but it should be easy to fix and I'll help if I can. The other problem was with the nature of the remaining sources. After I removed the ones that don't mention Banaszak, the remaining ones seemed to mostly be primary or self published by his employer or groups that he represents. I would count them as reliable, but unfortunately that means that they aren't independent. - Bilby (talk) 01:16, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
