What did this blast furnace produce? There is a claim in the DYK here that "it produced steel for the Eiffel Tower", except that there's no indication that this site produced any steel, and the Eiffel Tower isn't even made of steel.
A blast furnace produces pig iron. An old photo here shows workers posing with cast iron objects, so there may well have been a cupola furnace for producing castings from the iron. There's no indication of any of the furnaces necessary to produce either wrought iron or steel. Andy Dingley (talk) 15:02, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
