Fair use rationale for Image:Gorseinonlogo.gif[edit]

Image:Gorseinonlogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Corrections[edit]

I've corrected this page to show the correct Principal. Also, that staff and student numbers were way off. I've put in what I consider to be reasonable values which I'll update with better numbers in the next few days. I assume that the student numbers reported are full time equivilents? Competition[edit]

I've taken out the reference to competition for entry to the A-level courses as this statement is not true. Whilst it is true that the college is oversubscribed and that there exists a waiting list for access to A-level courses, it is not true that potential students are selected in any form of competition.MalachiK (talk) 17:55, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

'Cash in policy'[edit]

I've added a refeence to this new section on the cash in policy. Although, I'm not sure why physics was singled out. Looking at the AS results for 2008, it doesn't stand out that much. Also, I'm not sure if this section is adding any new information to the article as the 2008 results were already up and referenced.

Does anyone have any official reference for this 'cash in policy'? Is this unique in further education in wales? It seems a bit odd having this in an encyclopedia article. MalachiK (talk) 23:07, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've edited the new section so that it sounds a little more balanced and includes the facts. I still think we're on thin ice making claims abot internal policy without references. The article is very specific, that any lecturer can make the cdecision themselves... how is this known to be true? I doubt anyone has a copy of the policy on this.
