Identical lyrics?[edit]

The article currently claims (without source) that "The first 3 melody lines that are sung are identical to the first 3 sung melody lines of "Two Minute Warning", a song by Depeche Mode (composed by Alan Wilder) in 1983." Comparing the lyrics of Glorious to the lyrics of Two Minute Warning, I see no overlap at all. What is this referring to? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.185.161.246 (talk) 03:55, 2 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't write that, but being familiar with both songs, I get what it's referring to. It's about the melody of those three lines, not the lyrics. It's indeed the same, with only minor differences in rhythm to match the lyrics. For instance, when comparing the first line ("Here she comes with a master plan" and "We're lying by the orange sky") they both have eight syllables corresponding to eight notes with identical pitch changes, but with a difference in rhythm corresponding to how the words "here she comes" and "we're lying" are spoken naturally.
Perhaps it would better to rephrase the claim as "the melody of the first 3 lines" rather than "the first 3 melody lines". As to references, I don't know. It's obvious when you listen to it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.228.192.65 (talk) 11:55, 26 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
