Saggio di Contrapunto[edit]

The EB9 article on Giovanni Animuccia

  • "Giovanni Animuccia" , Encyclopædia Britannica, 9th ed., Vol. II, New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1878, p. 57.

states that two of his works were used by Martini in the Saggio di Contrapunto. Is that the same thing as the Esemplare di contrappunto or a different work? — LlywelynII 00:13, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tom Collins[edit]

Professor Peter Schickele, in his satirical "study" of the life of the fictitious P.D.Q. Bach has "found" that P.D.Q. Bach's second phase of life, the soused period, was shaped in part by Padre Martini (and further by his association with Thomas Collins).

Thomas Collins goes to a cocktail with gin. Is this really what is meant here, or some guy whose name really is Thomas Collins? If so, who? JIP | Talk 12:26, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Many drinks are named after personalities, so yes, that's what a Tom Collins is. Absolutely does not belong in this article. - kosboot (talk) 14:30, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If you feel it does not belong in this article, feel free to remove it. I'm neutral about this. JIP | Talk 14:42, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
