Lack of independent citations[edit]

Large swaths of this article seem to be based on Booth's bio on Mashable Benelux or passing mentions of her achievements in the lead of her articles, neither of which qualify as independent, reliable sources per WP:BIO as far as I'm concerned. A cursory Google (News) search didn't turn up any independent coverage of Booth, while some of the cited external coverage (i.e. not authored by the subject) is broken or incomplete:

  • The Fashionista article[1] doesn't actually contain any information, just a spoiler/preview for the full interview in the physical magazine.
  • The Hoofddorpse Courant article has a broken link, no archived version is available.
  • Likewise, the archived links to Citysite and MeerBusiness appear to be broken as well.

I think the BLP+ header is warranted, pending additional sources or at the very least restoration of the above.

Added refs. Also, many articles of journalists from major and international top-tier/tier one publications are based on the work they have done and their profiles. Mashable is a tier one publication. There are independent sources confirming the same about the subject as well, including official verified profiles confirming the information about the subject and also external sources. Broken links happens all the time on Wikipedia as online links are constantly moved, etc. Will look into this, cheers - Janssenben (talk) 18:18, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for adding the additional references, it is greatly appreciated. I understand that information about a journalist will often be hosted on a publication they write for, but if there are independent sources reporting the same information those are obviously prefered over the self-authored sources. I maintain that the biography on Mashable[2] is not an independent and verifiable source that can be relied upon for a BLP. This also applies to claims in the article like "Booth organized a large music concert in the Netherlands that attracted thousands of visitors when she was just 10 years old." and "Playgrounds and sports fields were built in Indonesia in several villages with the funds raised by Booth through her benefit concert." - as it stands, these are wholly unsupported by independent multiple secondary sources like a news article, interview or other reporting. My primary concern regarding the quality of the article comes down to the fact that nearly all claims cite one publication with the articles often written by Booth. To me this does not present enough proof to establish notability under WP:BASIC, which asks for significant coverage in multiple secondary sources. --Fdebijl (talk) 18:49, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your swift reply. I've edited and added multiple refs and external sources confirming info - obviously over time since there are many online sources, it is common on Wikipedia that sources end up being moved, disappear, archived, etc. The subject has also received a well-known and significant award as per WP:BASIC. There are certainly many refs and verified pages confirming info on the subject in comparison to many other pages about other journalists on Wikipedia, but I'll certainly look into it again. Cheers again - Janssenben (talk) 20:05, 8 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
