Outstanding?[edit]

"an outstanding student" - didn't he get a 2nd class honours? User:Bensonby (not signed in) 217.196.245.2 12:24, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

'He greatuated second in his class, I think, not outstanding but very good perhaps. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.101.188.42 (talk) 01:21, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pseudonymous letters?[edit]

I think the writer means anonymous letters, since it doesn't mention under whose pseudonym they were written. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 15.195.201.86 (talk) 02:40, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My understanding is pseudonymous letters are written under pen names, anonymous letters without a name signed. Legal confidentiality simply prevented the names being publicly known except where disclosure was required.Cloptonson (talk) 09:14, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mention of Oscar Wilde[edit]

Reverend Edalji and a vicarage servant also got letters, in which the Reverend was accused of "gross immorality with persons using Vaseline in the same way as did Oscar Wilde". I agree with the bracketed request for a citation of that statement. In 1892 Wilde's sexual practices were not the public knowledge they became through reports of the court cases that involved Wilde which began in 1895, three years later.Cloptonson (talk) 22:01, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

More known on later career?[edit]

The 'Aftermath' section is scant on his career after being restored to the legal register. Is anything known of how longer he practised, he was in his late 70s when he died by which time he could have retired. It appears from his living arrangement with his sister that he never married - or did he?Cloptonson (talk) 09:19, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article is so poorly written![edit]

Please would someone clean up this article? It is so poorly written. Bad grammar abounds! 2401:7000:CB29:CF00:C444:7A5F:DBB7:DE28 (talk) 20:21, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why not go ahead and fix all the bad grammar yourself? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 20:30, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
