1966 Republican California governor primary - Reagan figures query[edit]

it says that Christopher "lost the June 8, 1966 Republican primary for Governor of California to former actor and conservative icon Ronald Reagan, who won with 77 percent of the vote". This is indeed what is said in the book by Kabaservice cited as a source. However the article 1966 California gubernatorial election has Reagan on 64.62% to Christopher's 30.8% in the primary, and the cited source confirms these figures. Clearly this is quite a difference, and not one that would seem to be caused by a typo. I think it is Kabaservice figures which are wrong, but before making any edits would like to know if anybody as access to additional sources which would confirm this. Also as other parts of the article are based on this source, any edit would also have to be careful how it handles this if it is an error. I would welcome other editors' thoughts. Reference 1F does not line up with article.[edit]

I haven't made any edits because I may be misreading, and I haven't made any previous Wikipedia edits, but having looked over source 1, namely GEORGE CHISTOPHER 1907-2000 / Big-Thinking S.F. Mayor Of '50s and '60s Is Dead, there is nothing saying that his administration built, "twelve new schools, seventeen firehouses, six public swimming pools, the five-story Fifth and Mission and the underground Civic Center garages". If someone more experienced could take a look and see if it was possibly improperly sourced or incorrect, that'd be great. Wanderer505 (talk) 04:01, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
