The system in the Unesco doc is quite different. Consonants that are pronounced the same have the same braille values, as the image in the info box would suggest. Neither ä nor ə is written; the consonant before ə is modified to distinguish it from ä. Many consonants differ. If this was ever actually used, it was abandoned by the time the chart in the info box was drawn up. — kwami (talk) 06:37, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
