“A” Level

Why is ‘A Level’ written “A” Level, like the “A” is in doubt or something? The English exam boards and the press write either ‘A Level’ or ‘A-level’ so surely these are the correct forms? Madeinsane (talk) 11:04, 13 August 2020 (UTC)

@Madeinsane: The main article to which that Wiki link points: GCE Advanced Level consistently refers to 'A Level', as you mention. So I think it is simply an inconsistency of terminology that can be brought into line. I am sure there will be no objection if you want to do that. This is the only instance within the article. Teacher assessments

The references to teacher assessments are misleading. They suggest that the assessments were made by individual teachers, which was not the case. They were made by groups of teachers but were moderated by senior staff. The correct name is Centre Assessed Grades. Even the government get this bit right: . Williamson's A-level grades

Williamson's pivotal role helping Sunak cmpaign to become Prime Minister

I put this into the article. DeFacto took it out stating "Most of that is already in the article". Most of it wasn't in the article. Williamson being sacked twice was already in the article, which is why I summarised it briefly. The main part of my edit was "[Williamson] was seen as pivotal when Rishi Sunak tried to get MPs to support Sunak in his first first attempt to become prime minister." and that wasn't already in the article. You need to construct some context around that then to allow readers to understand whose opinion that is and what role they think he played. And perhaps some evidence that he is believed to have made any significant difference to Sunak becoming prime minister. All reliably sourced, of course, and of due weight. If it is widely believed, then there will be sources other than four or five sentences in a broader article on Independent.
