Hey, is "the jerk who says 'Yeeeees!' all the time" on The Simpsons based on Gale Gordon? - M.Neko

No, that's probably based on the great character comedian, Frank Nelson (actor), from the Jack Benny, and Sanford and Son shows, amongst many others.

Gale starred in a radio show called Granby's Green Acres, which has some of the same characters as TV's Green Acres.

The Mr. Mooney character was not the original banker on The Lucy Show. Charles Lane played an earlier cantankerous banker.

I've been listening to Fibber_McGee_and_Molly, he's also Mayor Latrivia (sp?). The Mayor is the same type of slow-burn temper as Mr Moonie and Mr. Conklin. This particular episode was his last before going off to serve in the Coast Guard in WW II. I'm not sure of the years he played the Mayor, Indigo42 (talk) 13:16, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

I'm not sure of the broadcast dates (after the end of WWII), Gordon starred as Gregory Hood in "The Casebook of Gregory Hood" on radio. The character was an amateur detective, gourmand, and pilot of his own small airplane living in San Francisco. Jtyroler (talk) 20:35, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
