Citing sources and giving viewpoints due weight[edit]

47.29.243.239's recent edit to Freedom of religion in Bangladesh is misleading. The title of the newspaper article is not "As per as Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, The country's Hindu population have declined from 8.5% in 2011 to 7% in 2016", as the IP has claimed. Instead, it is "At a mere 7 per cent, Bangladesh Hindus under threat, says US rights activist".

The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics hasn't measured religious composition at the same granularity as the census since 2011. The closest it came in 2016 was the Bangladesh Sample Vital Statistics 2016, which estimated that 88.4% of the population was Muslim, and 11.6% was all other religions. The percentage of Hindus the IP used is not an official number, nor the academic consensus, but the opinion of one activist, Richard Benkin. As such, it doesn't belong in the prominent graphic, nor should it be the primary number in the text. A sentence may be added to the end of note 1, where it is explained that estimates vary. Appropriate wording would be something like, "Activist Richard Benkin estimates that as of 2016, the percentage of Hindus in Bangladesh had decreased to 7%."^[1]
