Could you please explain...[edit]

Several short paragraphs, and several references, were removed from the article, with the edit summary "Undid revision 362890590 by Geo Swan Removing the content for now. The sources don't clarify whether these people commanded the PRT only, or the entire FOB. Also, PRT/FOB relation needs to be explained."

If valid WP:RS don't specifically state something a concerned contributor thinks should be specified I suggest this should trigger either

  1. a rewrite of those passages;
  2. a discussion on the talk page;
  3. the use of appropriate wikitags.

I suggest valid WP:RS should not be removed because someone has a concern that sentences that cite them are problematic.

WRT the assertion that "PRT/FOB relationship needs to be explained" -- I agree that this is desirable. However:

  1. should this relationship be explained in the article on every FOB that hosts a PRT?
  2. the wikipedia is a work in progress -- as above, that these paragraphs do not explain this relationship is not, IMO, a valid justification to remove them. WP:VER -- we can only include material that is backed up by an WP:RS.

What if we don't have good RS that explains the nature of the relationship between FOBs and PRTs? Should we then not cover the verifiable fact that FOBs hosted PRTs? Geo Swan (talk) 17:05, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
