History[edit]

The history section states: "Footbridges are small, but important, because they are usually presented in townscape". However, the initial series of images are of of rural bridges. The article on the whole focuses only on the recent history of footbridges, but even here it doesn't fully address the reasons behind the building of new bridges in cities. The article Stepping stones suggests that this was the earliest form of footbridge. This sounds reasonable, though this lacks a citation. Rwood128 (talk) 11:58, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

An example of an early bridge is the Ponte Sant'Angelo, though this is presumably only now used as a footbridge. Rwood128 (talk) 13:49, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The Sweet Track might be seen as a neolithic duckboard. Rwood128 (talk) 16:40, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dangerous Webpage Blocked[edit]

The Wayback Machine link for citation 15 on this article brings up a Dangerous Webpage Blocked from Norton. (The citation is - Dennis, R. (2004). "Foot Bridges". Retrieved June 25, 2010 Archived July 15, 2007, at the Wayback Machine). I can't just remove the citation as the link is also in External links modified section (above). I'm not sure how Wikipedia handles such links. Can an admin take a look at this. Thanks. 2A00:23C6:3B82:8500:4DDC:78E5:817F:28A8 (talk) 21:34, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
