Five Go To Mystery MoorFive Go to Mystery Moor — I belive that the "T" on "To" should be lowercase. Darth Newdar (talk) 14:07, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Travellers? - they were gypsies! This is just P.C. orthodoxy.[edit]

The Five heard about *travellers* in this book? - and they followed *travellers*? What nonsense!

They were *gypsies*, not travellers - it's only in bowdlerized, revised, updated, watered-down late editions that you may see them described as "travellers". Let's be blunt about it - many recent editions of Enid Blyton's works are *censored*, pure and simple! But I really don't think Wikipedia is the place to compromise accuracy in the name of political correctness. Whether you approve of the term "gypsies" or not, the fact is that this book is about gypsies - not travellers.

If it is desirable to mention "travellers", it should be done only in the context of discussion about how the books have been "updated" - something which may merit being mentioned, whether or not you are in favour of such updating. But it is misleading to speak about the book in general as if it is about "travellers", which it most certainly is not.

I might consider whether to change this - and perhaps a few of the other Famous Five articles could do with a bit of cleaning up, too, and a bit more detail being added, while I'm at it. M.J.E. (talk) 11:27, 29 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
