More information needs to be provided than this to justify why this actually belongs in an encyclopedia. Numerous unidentified people die every year; what makes this one unique or notable? Bearcat (talk) 23:35, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Honestly, this has more to do with being a tourist attraction and local legend that expanded into a "tall tale" nation-wide. There's also the possibility of a crime committed. I would not consider it a biography.--Bellatea (talk) 01:19, 11 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

erm...[edit]

The "Inscription" section doesn't match the inscription in the photo, which has "ear" instead of "hour" (makes no sense, but its not our job to edit facts) and a couple other differences. Not really knowing much about this matter I elect not to make the change, but someone bolder and/or more knowlegeable should do, I think. Herostratus (talk) 01:18, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The photo isn't an actual photo in as much as it is a black and white picture that was written over and tinted with color. The transcript on the page is correct. --Bellatea (talk) 05:39, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

incorrect date on source[edit]

The information on source #9 - Ladies Home Journal, January 1913 - is incorrect. This particular issue has nothing on the Female Stranger, not on page 20, not anywhere. (I have a jpg image of the index page, but I don't know how to add it here.) Page 20 in this issue has an article titled, "A Man’s Letters to a Man - VIII". I also looked through the February and March issues and found nothing. Can anyone provide the correct information? Elsquared (talk) 05:00, 29 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I also noticed that. As can be seen here [1] there is nothing that matches that source. I think it might be mistaken or made up. More details needed. Nesnad (talk) 16:49, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I vividly remember the page because of the large illustration. However, with it being eight years later, I don’t remember what website I used to pull up that article. I added additional information where the article had been republished in the Alexandria Gazette. Bellatea (talk) 07:30, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
