Disambiguation with Fairfield IL[edit]

Hello - The reason I added the disambiguation note for Fairfield Illinois is that when I was watching the initial coverage of the tornado on the news last night, local (i.e. Chicago) news anchors and meteorologists kept referring to Fairdale as Fairfield, which is downstate. It seemed like having the disambiguation present and obvious would be of help to readers. I would like to put it back unless there is strong objection. Hi, although adding a hatnote to disambiguate Fairfield and Fairdale would not clutter the page terribly, it doesn't seem necessary either. Just because a local media outlet confused the two, at Wikipedia we should adhere to the Wikipedia:Disambiguation policy first. Perhaps a better way to do that would be to add {{otherplaces|Fairdale}} to the top, and then at the Fairdale (disambiguation) page, readers will see Fairfield (disambiguation) in the "See also" section.– Gilliam (talk) 15:29, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I am going to leave the disambig note at Fairfield, Illinois, because it seems like a user looking for Fairdale would be more likely to erroneously search for Fairfield than vice-versa. KConWiki (talk) 15:46, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
One other thing about this - Let me just point out the page views for Fairfield have skyrocketed since the Fairdale incident, so I am glad that we left the Fairdale hatnote at the Fairfield page. Thanks KConWiki (talk) 05:46, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

History section[edit]

I've done as best as I could to develop the history section, and I have the basics of the late 1800s/very early 1900s. However, I was not able to find a lot of citable material on the Web about the 20th Century. So, the history section essentially jumps from the 1890s to the 2015 tornado, which is somewhat awkward. Is there anyone out there with some citable resources about this community during the 20th Century that could help flesh that section out? (Or even leave links or resources here, and I can try to make use of them?) Thanks KConWiki (talk) 17:49, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
