Can anyone offer proof that a localized version of the "Rolls-Royce Phantom" is being built in China? FAW showed a concept car that looked surprisingly similar to the Phantom, but it is not in production and was not related to the Rolls-Royce. - Hudson 14:00, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:FAWlogo.gif

Image:FAWlogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:21, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Hongqi Benteng

I think its name is not Hongqi Benteng. Its name is "FAW Benteng" (Chinese: 一汽奔腾 (yiqi benteng)). And FAW isn't said it is Hongqi. (http://www.faw-benteng.com/)

"一汽" in First Automobile Works (中国第一汽车) meaning "China FAW Group Corporation". Chinese character "一" means "first" and "汽" means "automobile".

Hongqi in Chinese language is "红旗", and FAW called The Hongqi HQ3 "一汽红旗HQ3" (yiqi hongqi HQ3) in Chinese.

In first introduction of FAW Benteng, it is prototype named Hongqi C301, but when FAW selling Benteng, FAW said it is 一汽奔腾 (FAW benteng), not Hongqi. -- Love Krittaya (talk) 06:42, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

It's Chinese to me

"'一' means 'first' and '汽' means 'automobile'". Can anybody transliterate? I mean, like hongqi=red flag. TREKphiler hit me ♠ 18:12, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

First?

In the 1920's Buick had a factory in Shanghai and later a "Shengyang Automobile Factory" made trucks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.134.94.21 (talk) 16:01, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

No need to add China before FAW Group

We donot add Japan before Toyota and USA before General Motors.--Ksyrie(Talkie talkie) 15:06, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

China FAW Group CorporationFAW Group — Repairing move proposal (not mine).--Kotniski (talk) 12:49, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Seconded, although I have a very slight preference for the original title of First Automobile Works.  ⊂| Mr.choppers |⊃  (talk) 19:30, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Support, I support "FAW Group" but not First Automobile Works. The company changed its name to "China FAW Group Corporation" in 1992. I assume this means they preferred "FAW" to "First Automobile Works". Maybe only their lawyers do. But it's not legally known as First Automobile Works anymore. Fleetham (talk) 19:36, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
I really do not have a strong preference for one or the other of these two titles, but the name of this article is supposed to reflect common usage and not legal titles of corporations.
Examples: article name is Honda, not Honda Motor Company or Honda Motor Company, Ltd.. Similarly with Volvo Cars, not Volvo Personvagnar AB. If someone wants to write an article about the holding corporation or mother company, they are more than welcome to do so. But they must not gut, retitle and rewrite an article which was about the car company to begin with. As a sidenote, FAW is well known as First Automobile Works, as evidenced by their use of a bewinged "1" for a logo.  ⊂| Mr.choppers |⊃  (talk) 07:55, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
I thought it's better to rename it as FAW Group, this name is found in its homepage here [1].BTW,FAW group is a more refined name comparing other names.--Ksyrie(Talkie talkie) 12:33, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
Good, sounds as if FAW Group works for any and all.  ⊂| Mr.choppers |⊃  (talk) 18:07, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

FAW 1041

На большегрузном фургоне FAW 1041 ездит в дальние рейсы по России Дальнобойщик Алексей Иванович Звягинцев. Huali a marque, or..? Jun

Looking to nail down exactly what is Huali, as I clean up this article. Does anyone know?

Variously:

  • On FAW Group Jiaxing is described as "formerly Huali" and "a brand of Tianjin FAW Xiali Automobile Company".
  • And later, FAW Huali (Tianjin) Automobile Co Ltd (presumably now FAW Xiali?) is described as "A joint venture with Tianjin Automotive Industry (Group) Co Ltd that, since 2003,[37] has manufactured Daihatsu models sold under the brand name Dario."
  • Meanwhile, the page Huali describes that "All products were sold under the FAW-Jiaxing brand from 2008." but....
  • [archived page] describes the Happy Messenger as a FAW Jiaxing as far back as 2004, noting that "FAW Huali Sales Company is responsible for sales"
  • And also, Tianjin FAW shows a mix of Tianjin, Huali, and Xiali cars at least all the way back as the mid 1980s.

What is/was Huali? What is the exact relationship between Tianjin FAW, Huali, Xiali, Jiaxing, Dario, and Junpai? No coffee, please. (talk) 06:20, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
