The article refers to the F35/F25 as being built in "Saab’s Göteborg, Sweden, powertrain plant." It should be noted that though the transmission was originally developed and produced by Saab in Saab's own facility in Göteborg, General Motors (Saab's parent company from 2000-2010) sold the facility that produced the F35 to the German firm WEIGL Group KG in 2008, forming WEIGL Transmission Plant AB. WEIGL Transmission Plant AB was later sold to the Chinese automaker BAIC in 2011.
