I don't understand how Wikipedia defines page content but, if necessary, perhaps a mention of His Heroism should be included under another Topic such as "List of Capitol Police Officers who have received the Congressional Gold Medal"? Either way, His actions are a part of United States History and therefore deserving of recognition. No, he is not notable and these AfDs should have been closed as Delete per WP:BLP1E. But there has been a rush by some to create and maintain articles about all individuals linked to the 1/6 attacks, and while most have resulted in deletes and redirects, others have resulted in inconsistent results like this article. Disambiguation - presuming this entry survives the test of notability, a disambiguation will be needed, as there is another Eugene Goodman entry

"He was previously a detective with the New York Police Department." I have seen no reference to this anywhere, except here. I'm wondering if someone picked up the text 'Former NYPD Detective ...' from the Washington Post headline on a video in which a former NYPD detective (not Officer Goodman) offers commentary on Officer Goodman's actions? What's his rank?

Apologies in advance if this topic comes across as a forum topic, but I feel there's a conflict of his rank. While this article states he served in the army, having attained the rank of Sergeant, in this clip from 1:45 the announcer at the inauguration calls him out by one of his titles as "Private 1st Class", but there is no mention of this rank in his article. Is there any mention in any form of this on this article, or has it been misrepresented/stated wrong? I'm confused. -- Tytrox (talk) 19:39, 26 June 2021 (UTC)

UPDATE: Ok I think I've answered my own question, just by navigating to the United States Capitol Police article, and there it has a list of ranks, with "Private First Class" being one of them. Description of the insurrectionists is too nice

Ashley Babbitt was an insurrectionist who was shot trying to force entry into the house chamber. She wasn't "approaching" the chamber like a tourist, she had smashed thr glass and was halfway through the bloody door already. Could the editors please discuss this interpretation of what happened? Because the rest of the English-speaking world thinks Americans are too afraid to describe these people accurately, and it's especially upsetting to see such soft-pedalling on the page of this absolute legend. 192.0.182.43 (talk) 19:01, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
