Statement about ASICs by Vitalik, room for new article[edit]

This statement is made by a credible source but should be worded as such. Please change it so that it doesn't look vague. Casper is its own consensus mechanism, perhaps a new page should be made about it? Also, if this goes through, add in a "Main article:" link. --TheExceptionCloaker (talk) 02:23, 5 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Merge to Ethereum?[edit]

This article has one peer-reviewed RS and the rest is self-published papers, wiki pages and blog posts. Should this even be a separate article? - David Gerard (talk) 11:50, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ethash is/was used by a number of cryptocurrencies besides Ethereum (e.g., Callisto, Expanse, QuarkChain, Pirl), and some more (e.g., Ethereum Classic and Ubiq) use algorithms derived from it, with only minor changes. So it seems reasonable for the algorithm to have its own page. 201.231.146.88 (talk) 18:06, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That's not answering the question - are there Wikipedia-quality sources to this effect? - David Gerard (talk) 23:11, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've redirected the article - we can break it out again if there are sufficient independent reliable third-party sources to do so - David Gerard (talk) 16:31, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
