What would help this article? Clearly Esao has prodigious talent. Also, I have to ask why visual arts are not a category included in the Notability Guidelines. Thanks in advance. BingoDingo (talk) 15:49, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The notability guidelines do include visual arts. See WP:CREATIVE, a subsection of the notability criteria for biographies. If Andrews doesn't meet the specific criteria for visual artists (works in museum collections, major awards etc.), notability can also be established through significant coverage in reliable third-party sources. His works have been featured at Jonathan LeVine Gallery, Chelsea Art Galleries, BoingBoing, Beinart.org featured artist, Dorothy Circus Gallery, Rome, Italy, and a featured Artist at Juxtapoz.com. Beinart.org is not a commercial enterprise. It's a collection of notable surreal (must be alive after 2000) artists in painting, drawing, sculpture, and digital art. The link in Beinart.org (above) will take you directly to the featured artist article. He has also been featured at Juxtapoz and High Fructose, two magazines devoted to this genre of art. Both are high quality "glossy art magazine" publications and neither sell art directly; though both feature ads for galleries. BingoDingo (talk) 20:13, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

These are improvements. I still don't think the artist is particularly notable, but pixelsurgeon just about counts as a reliable source. If you want you can remove the notability tag now. It is not up to you alone to determine what is notable or non-notable. I suggest you nominate this for speedy deletion. We can let the decision come about by consensus. I am not new here. Ethicoaestheticist in future discuss these changes with me. You have hacked up this article like a butcher with a cleaver. The references to Red Mountain High School is within the Pixelsurgeon interview. You did read it didn't you? That is the reason for the reference you know? Have you even bothered to look at his work? I somehow doubt it.
I don't know that I would keep the "Piss Drunx" reference, but since I didn't put it in there myself I'm reluctant to change that part of the article. There were a total of three before you removed them. That does not include the NY Arts interview I found yesterday. As I'm sure you are aware, finding these sources is quite time consuming. I will have to go into history, extract those articles and references. I think you mistakenly rolled the WhatDoYouThinkAboutThat.com interview and the StainlessSteelDroppings.com interviews into Pixelsurgeon group references. Thank you though for removing the notability flag. Thank you as well for finding the BP portrait award. I had not yet found the time to do that. Cheers.
