Erin AnttilaErin (singer) – She is known by her artist name Erin, news sources rarely refer to her by her full name, nor do online music stores or her official website:[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] Good comparions: Robin, Beyoncé etc. --Relisted. walk victor falk talk 00:18, 24 May 2014 (UTC) Puisque (talk) 14:20, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Neutral - would be more convinced if she was releasing anything in English. And has not made any dent yet in English Google Books. However none of the dozen other Erin singers on en.wp seems to go by just Erin. In ictu oculi (talk) 00:44, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per WP:NATURAL. Note that for mononymic singers like Ola or Pharrell we still tend to use the last name in order to disambiguate their pages. Dralwik|Have a Chat 16:27, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support The current disambiguation is un-WP:NATURAL. Compare to WP:MIDDLES: "Adding middle names, or their abbreviations, merely for disambiguation purposes (if that format of the name is not commonly used to refer to the person) is not advised." There's no reason to treat surnames any differently. --BDD (talk) 17:28, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Excellent job by BDD in pointing out that an obscure name is a de facto unnatural disambiguator. If a "Sia Smith, (born 1981) British singer-songwriter" existed, it would be much easier to distinguish her on the Sia dab page from Sia (singer) than from "Sia Furler (born 1975), Australian singer, better known by her mononym Sia". It also falls under wp:stagename, "Dizzy Gillespie, not "John Birks Gillespie", which leads to Prince (musician), not "Prince Nelson". walk victor falk talk 01:20, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Don't move. Her name isn't "Erin (Singer)", nobody reading the wiki will seach for that. If there are other people called Erin then a surname is the natural way to distinguish between them. Sairp (talk) 11:22, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per Dralwiki. I'm not convinced that the comparison between middle name treatment and surname treatment is accurate. Use of surnames in article titling (at least in an English language context) seems inherently encyclopedic; while mononyms are recognized, they are treated as special cases, and the burden is on the proposer to suggest compelling reasons why exceptional circumstances apply. Given the evidence presented, I don't believe that burden has been met, and it seems natural to continue to disambiguate by surname. Xoloz (talk) 17:54, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
