I'm sorry but I'm not sure how a soap opera actress counts as notable. Especially when you compare it to the other people in that category: a former world number one golfer and a British Open champion and a three time olympic gold medalist. Neutrality, References[edit]

This article really needs references and an edit - by someone who knows more about the school than me - for neutrality. Unsupported statements such as "is noted for its academic and character building programs," "thriving community service office," and "surpasses the quality of any other high school facility in the area," make this read more like a promotional brochure than an encyclopedia article. The "surpasses the quality of any other high school facility in the area," does sound like it is from a brochure but it is subjective information. No other highschools in Jacksonvile have an center that is as big or as expensive as Episcopal's.

October 2009[edit]

I thoroughly gutted the article, which had become nothing but boosterism and inane facts about the school's sports teams. I would have reverted to a previous version, but there's never been a good one - before that it was largely a reiteration of a news story about an insensitive picture in the school paper. I'm leaving the "unreferenced tag" since the cites I added are all to the school's website and do not constitute reliable, third-party sources; I wasn't able to find any in my cursory search.--Cúchullain ^t/c 15:28, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree the page had become cluttered and perhaps focused on sports but when you gutted the page you got rid of some important things. for example the notable alumni such as swimmers also the entire section of sports did not need to be removed this is an area that is important an important aspect of school life and is featured in many school articles on wikipedia for example bolles has a whole section, if this page does not need a sport section than no page about a school does. None of it was cited to reliable sources, which means it can't be included. It doesn't matter what other articles do or don't do if the material at this one can't be verified. I did gut the Bolles School article.[1] I also gutted Arlington Country Day School [2], University Christian School [3], and especially St. Johns Country Day School [4]. As none of them have been improved over the last several months, I will go back and gut them further when I have time. School shooting[edit]

The material I added about the 2012 shooting is accurate cited, and, I'd think relevant to the topic. I don't see why it's being removed.--Cúchullain ^t/c 14:31, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The material has been altered several times by an anonymous user who has previously added negative material about the victim.[5] This isn't going to fly. The current version is accurate and follows the source, which makes it clear that Schumerth was fired for incompetency. Episcopal School was the site of a school shooting on March 6, 2012, when fired Spanish teacher Shane Schumerth shot and killed head of school Dale Regan before committing suicide. Schumerth, who had been struggling with depression, was fired for incompetency that morning; he returned to the campus at 1:15 p.m. with an AK-47 assault rifle concealed in a guitar case. He entered Regan's office and shot her multiple times before turning the gun on himself.^[1]^[2]
