Comment[edit]

PLEASE NOTE: Henry O'Donnell and Joseph O'Donnell are not the same person! They are brothers. If you do not believe me then please see Charles Oman's History of the Peninsular War: Vol. IV and look in the index. Djmaschek (talk) 04:21, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Page name os wrong. Not "Conde del Abisbal", the right is "Conde de la Bisbal". Please change that Sirslayercort (talk) 13:53, 5 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Henry O'Donnell[edit]

I don't understand (a) why this page has been renamed several times and (b) why a name is used that would be unfamiliar to English-language readers. In English-language histories, this able general is named Henry O'Donnell. Djmaschek (talk) 01:27, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure that this General and Joseph O'Donnell (younger) are two different people?--Apr1 (talk) 15:15, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Le comte d'Abisbal[edit]

A contemporary French account published in 1816 states:

D'un autre côté, le comte d'Abisbal a passé la Bidassoa et est entré en France, mais en annonçant les intentions les plus amicales, et le désir de servir les intérête du Roi de France.

On the other hand, the Count of Abisbal passed over the [river] Bidassoa and entered France, but announcing the most friendly intentions, and the desire to serve the interests of the King of France.

Are we sure that EB1911 has the name correct as "Conde de La Bisba" rather than "le comte d'Abisbal" (Count of Abisbal)? -- PBS (talk) 19:27, 23 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
