Treason[edit]

How deep does the movie go into the issue of treason and betrayal by FW de Klerk and other National Party members? --41.16.113.1 (talk) 17:22, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

1) You'll have to watch the movie for yourself to satisfy your prejudged claim. 2) This movie is about the talks initiated by Michael Young, so P.W. Botha, F.W. de Klerk & Nelson Mandela are truly only supporting roles in this production, de Klerk character could even be described as a bit portrayal in this story.

3) Random bit, no matter what your politics, I'd suggest watch the film for the directing. Pete Travis does a very nice subtle job of expressing the possible explosiveness of the times. You learn what you just witnessed about Albie Sachs by a headline in a paper. At the opening credits or in a point of tension, there are guitar chords overlay on other score music that kind of remind me of Pink Floyd's "Run Like Hell," but faint. So he adds drama, without I think going into fiction, which I think is hard to do. I'd recommend you watch it for those reasons as well. 71.114.44.6 (talk) 20:04, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
