Deletion tag

An anonymous user placed a deletion tag on this biography stating that it lacked notability. However, no explanation was left on the talk page so I reverted the tag and added to the article as is suggested by the tag itself. Elizabeth Holloway Marston fulfills Wikipedia:Notability (people) on a number of levels. These two articles establish her role in the development of Wonder Woman in detail: http://www.bu.edu/alumni/bostonia/2001/fall/wonderwoman/ http://www.boston.com/news/globe/ideas/articles/2004/04/04/wonder_working_power/ and are cited throughout the article. Suggestions for developing the article are welcome - however, a better argument will need to be given in order to justify deletion on the basis of notability. -Classicfilms 00:46, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

I agree - those are more than enough to be going on with and the other sources you've added pretty seal the deal. If there are concerns and thoughts about deletion then they should be discussed here before tagging the entry. (Emperor 01:23, 1 November 2007 (UTC))
Hi Emperor, Thanks so much for your wonderful clean up. The article looks much better. I wanted to add here that I have just included a few more references which I list below - I would greatly appreciate any further suggestions towards improving the article.

I have replaced the URL above with this URL (as an external link only) which contains the same image but with copyright information and permission. It is listed as a footnote in the "Background" section.

Well a clean-up is easy when the article s already looking solid and I haven't had to do much. I also don't have much to suggest as you seem to have everything in hand. The only minor suggestion would be to update the links coming in via a redirect [1] but really everything looks good. I will keep it on my watchlist and if I can do anything I'll drop in. Great! I appreciate the help. And thanks for your suggestion about updating the links, I went ahead and did that. Regards, -Classicfilms 17:50, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Not good use of sources

This article relies to heavily on law school linked sources praising alumni. It also lacks in formal tone. Beyond this, it engages in attempts at broad social commentary that ignore lots of facts, such as that for women in many socio-economic classes working after child birth was the norm. This article is written in a way that it ignores the experiences of the majority of African-American women for example, and treats Upper-middle class white expectations as if they were the norm.John Pack Lambert (talk) 02:05, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

Olive Byrne

Is it clear whether Olive Byrne and Elizabeth Holloway Marston had a romantic/sexual relationship with each other? At the moment this article declares Olive her 'sister [...] by love', but Byrne's article claims she was the 'domestic partner' of both William and Elizabeth Marston. This doesn't suggest a particularly sororal 'love'. These articles then appear to contradict each other. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.21.206.2 (talk) 20:37, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

When the article states that she was the "domestic partner" it means that from a legal perspective. A domestic partner, in legal terms is someone who is cohabiting (and probably sexually involved with) but is not legally married to them partner, or in this case, partners.SpiritedMichelle (talk) 02:10, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
