Time in Japan

I believe that Edward Norton lived in Japan for quite some time and speaks very fluent Japanese, but I'm not going to add that because I'm not certain. - Squilibob 12:56, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
Indeed, my girlfriend (who's Japanese) told me he'd lived in Osaka for a few months (maybe years) I'll ask her the details again. Koubiak 13:41, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
According to Edward-Norton.Org he used to live/work in Osaka, and really does speak Japanese fluently. Unfortunately, he doesn't have an official site.Kiko Loureiro 17:37, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

He speaks broken Japanese. He is fluent in Swahili.

"celebrity status"?

Is Norton really "known for his reluctance to embrace his celebrity status"? This is a strange way to begin an article. Daly 03:31, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

He certainly doesn't participate in a lot of the peripheral stuff that celebrities often do, (i hear he's even refused to discuss hobbies in an interview) but he does use his celebrity to support charitable causes, so it's not like he's a total recluse. I suggest forming a section on his private life (which could include upbringing, relationship and charities etc), where we could mention that he tends to keep this part of his life out of the sportlight. His full name

According to this fan site FAQ [1], which links lots of sources, there is no basis for his name being "edward james Norton jnr". I changed it to thier recommendation, and put a reference into the article. This has been reverted many times, each time leaving the link to the source supporting "edward H Norton". If anyone believes the source inappropriate and truly thinks "J Norton Jnr", please do not leave the other ref - that is nonsensical. Amo 01:49, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

imdb gives his name as edward james norton

-Dante, April 27, 2006

Yes, but IMDb is user-updated just like wikipedia. that's why it's important to be correct here, because that rumour is rife, among many seemingly "official" sources. I mean, jouranlists take it from the net and put it in interviews... Amo 00:49, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
Courtney Love gave his full name away on the People Vs. Larry Flynt DVD (cast commentary) as being Edward Harrison Norton VII. Plus, musician Grazielle Oganna mentioned his full name on the limited edition of her single "Walls" (special thanks to Edward Harrison Norton -- I believe she refers to the actor) Kiko Loureiro 17:53, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

What

Height: 6' 0" (183cm) Height: 6' 1" (1.85 m)

His height itself isn't such a big deal, BUT COULD YOU PLEASE AT LEAST LOOK AT WHAT YOU'RE ADDING AND COMPARE IT TO WHAT HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN IN THE ARTICLE to avoid such egregious incoherences as this?

Yeah i spotted that. I've changed it to be consistent with IMDB R42 18:16, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

"The image above is a candidate for speedy deletion"

Can we keep the picture of Ed Norton as Derek Vinland from "American History X" for the image on his Wikipedia entry? It's scheduled for speedy deletion, but it's one of his BEST roles....

Can there be any discussion on this? Or is it already decided?

In Fight Club

His name is not Jack, I don't think. Jack is only used as a satire for the organ articles. His namelessness is a symbolic device.

If you check the Fight Club OST many of the songs reference to him as 'Jack.' I think Jack would be what a director would reference him too, and that the organ articles would be a good way to identify the person if needed referencing to particularly him, as Tyler Durden would be confusing, no? JavaDog 23:27, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
He is never referred to as Jack in the movie. It's quite intentional that his name is not given. 'The Narrator' is fine. SubSeven 00:39, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

well shouldent it at least say "un-named protagonist" or something instead of just narrater?, cause in case no one else in the world noticed, his face is on screen for about 95% of the movie —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.156.97.119 (talk) 00:54, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
