The Peerage lists 5 children from the marriage of Sir Edmund Butler and Giles [sic] O'Carroll:

Sir James (ca.1440-16 Apr 1487), who married his first cousin and they were the parents of Piers Butler (1467-1539), 8th Earl of Ormond

Catherine, who married Edmund Butler, 8th Baron Dunboyne

Elena, who might be a conflation with the Elena Katherinasometimes considered to be her father's sister

Walter d.1506, the 2nd son according to Collins Peerage, who married an O'More first name possibly Grainne Walter succeeded to his father's estates at Paulstown "on account of attainders against [his elder brother] James".

Richard of Buolick, Co. Tipperary, slain in 1478 "by Fineen Ruadh, the son of Fineen [Mac Gillapatrick], one of the Ossorians, in the doorway of the church of St. Canice," Kilkenny. This murder was in retaliation for Richard's father (Edmund MacRichard) having ordered the murder of Fineen's father (Lord of Ossory) in 1443.
