Page Info[edit]

This page needs to be changed to Edmonton Champ Car Grand Prix and left that way.

Not changed every year the race name changes. That will be handled by the page for each year's race. SurfaceUnits 05:59, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New image could be used once some MediaWiki bugs involving SVG are fixed[edit]

The image is at right. MediaWiki/RSVG renders it VERY poorly. Until that is fixed, I think this image should remain here. I have uploaded a PNG showing what the SVG should look like. I will use it in the article in the mean time. Bugzilla:14953 has been filed on this issue. Will (Talk - contribs) 06:52, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Television Information[edit]

A question - how is a list of television commentators for Edmonton events not trivial? It does not directly affect the race in anyway. It's accuracy is very limited use as anyone watching the show in a different country, particularly non-english speaking, is going to have different commentary. Do articles on Presidential campaigns list the names of anchors from tally room broadcasts? Do Oylpiad articles contain lists of anchors? This is pretty much dictionary definition of trivial information. --Falcadore (talk) 01:23, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I thought that everyone carried the US feed, which would make it significant who got the contract which years, and who their commentators where. It is totally acceptable to discuss who is broadcasting an international sporting event, see 2010 Winter Olympics#Media coverage. 117Avenue (talk) 04:46, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Almost certain that it would not get the English feed everywhere. Certainly Champ Car era telecasts were frequently re-mounted. Also - the 2010 Olympics uses sentences, not a table. Table gives no context it's just statistics, it's not as you would put it, a discussion, it's just trivia. --Falcadore (talk) 05:03, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, I thought the section starting with the words See also would cause you to click on it to read more, so here, I'll provide you with the link: List of 2010 Winter Olympics broadcasters. 117Avenue (talk) 05:10, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's presented off to one side, in another page, not disrupting the actual article with an overload of trivia. That being said, the Olympics is tremendously more significant than an almost domestic level motor race. How many other individual motor race articles, from Le Mans, to Formula One, to the Indy 500, contain this sort of trivia, tabular form or otherwise. --Falcadore (talk) 05:15, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well I do support conformity with the other Indy articles, I just thought that it could have been useful information. 117Avenue (talk) 02:58, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
