1989: Emerson Fittipaldi[edit]

I question the correctness of the page's description, particularly the second sentence, "The award is only presented to Americans competing in United States motorsport on four wheels." At least two entries (1989: Emerson Fittipaldi; 1993: Nigel Mansell) are for non-Americans; Fittipaldi's entry lists him as Brazilian; Mansell is British. The official website does not seem to list any criteria. Neither does the site substantiate the claim on the page that "...the voting panel consists of the top automotive and racing journalists in the United States." - Peter Ellis - Talk 05:01, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
