Names I've added are all notable individuals who have played multiple seasons in Doolin's pubs, or have guested there so often that they deserve mention. To Hohenloh: How can a banjo player from Dublin possibly justify removing the name Kevin Griffin from a list of players of Doolin? All-Ireland banjo winner Kevin Griffin has been a pillar of the Doolin scene for most of his life, and deserves mention, as do the others listed. Legends don't require internet presence to be on wikipedia. I do recognize that this article does need citations, but as it has NONE as of yet, I offer thess contributions in all fairness and for accuracy's sake (I am personally not one of the mentioned names, just to make that clear).

Not sure you can truly claim "One of Doolin's claims to fame is that it is the main setting for the PlayStation 3 game Folklore. According to the game's storyline, the Netherworld, the world of the dead is a realm that can only be accessed from one place in the world, the sea-side village of Doolin." Regardless of whether the names should ultimately be in the article, their unsourced addition has been challenged by multiple editors, so you have no basis for replacing them unless you can fix that. Yes, there are plenty of other unsourced statements in the article, but we've taken special note of a slew of names being added who do not currently have articles, and so we have no way to judge whether they are notable.

Nothing requires an internet presence to be on Wikipedia. Print sources will suffice. See Wikipedia:Reliable sources. So please provide a print source, or any other suitable source, establishing that 1) these individuals have played in Doolin and 2) that they are sufficiently notable to be mentioned in this article. Based on the Wikipedia guideline on External links, specifically WP:ELNO, I would say no. All that site contains is photographs of places, and I would respectfully suggest that Wikipedia is not about publicizing pet projects. Hohenloh⁺ 00:53, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New Pier[edit]

A new pier became operational at Doolin in June 2015 ^[1] I intend to add my photo of the pier and a link to a Doolin blog story on the opening ^[2] Limericklawless

Population?[edit]

There's a few things that *any* village (and town and city and metropolitan area and region, and county, and ...) SHOULD have in its Wikipedia article. Care to guess? Yes, population! (if it varies seasonally, then both low and high). Demographics, area, average income, and other statistics (like maybe climate, economics) would also be appropriate. Also, I have no idea what "layout" means applied to an Irish village. Does it have an actual defined border/area? Since most (Western) villages do, if it doesn't then note it. Hi. Nice tone you've taken there.

RE: Population. Doolin is not sufficiently large to be classified as a census town. Hence there is no reliable/verifiable/census-based population or demographic statistics published for the village alone. Hence none is included here. Per WP:VER. (While the 2011 population of Doolin townland (Killilagh ED), was 102 people, this is just one sub-set of the village. And, while the 2011 population of Killilagh ED was 723 people, this is an area much larger than the village. Including either, as an indicator of demographics or whatever, would amount WP:OR.) I personally don't see any issue here. Adding uncited or synthesised "demographics" (just for the sake of it) would likely be an issue. Preliminary results from the 2022 census of Ireland are due to be published in April 2023.

RE: Layout. Someone felt this worthy of inclusion because the available sources (including Lonely Planet and other sources) clarify that, unlike some other villages in Ireland, the settlement is somewhat spread out. With a defined "centre". I personally don't see the issue with reflecting those sources here.
