The "investigation" was handed over to the California Attorney General's Office, under Rob Bonta. This was due to the fact that one of the victims of rape by Foppoli, Esther Lemus, was a deputy district attorney in the county in which the rape occurred. Citing a conflict of interest, Jill Ravitch forwarded the "investigation" to the Attorney General. The Attorney General's Office has not done anything since. I intend to consolidate sources and edit the article when I get time. If anyone has any feedback or suggestions, feel welcome to respond here, but please do not delete this section from this talk page and be mindful that deleting sections from talk pages is a violation of Wikipedia's rules. California Attorney General Rob Bonta, and the new Sonoma DA, Carla Rodriguez, have declared that it is past the statute of limitations on all potential charges (all 14 incidents of alleged rape or sexual assault including date rape drugs, brutal violence, and attempted blackmail) for which they would have had enough evidence to bring. This came after multiple years of about 3 years of doing nothing. There was also a recall campaign against former Sonoma County DA Jill Ravitch, but nobody ran against her, so Ravitch resigned, and Carla Rodriguez was internally promoted.
