Disarmament as Humanitarian Action

I strongly disagree with the flag: "This article may not meet the general notability guideline ..." This is an important Wikipedia entry. Since, by following links on this wiki, it appears true that this is a genuine research project at the United Nations with a larger goal of perhaps preventing innocent people from being killed by weapons of mass destruction or other similar contraptions, then it would appear very important indeed. Funded by Norway and Netherlands, the project: Disarmament as Humanitarian Action: Making Multilateral Negotiations Work, has the lofty goal of peace and diplomacy for problem solving, something which deservers far more attention, not less. Furthermore, as a philosophy, "Disarmament as Humanitarian Action" is not fiction. There are, by contrast, valid wikis on fictitious things such as the "Ring of Gyges," an imaginary object which Plato discusses in The Republic, a concept later borrowed by JRR Tolkien.

There is in fact a great bifurcation of human philosophy: one side of which believes having lots of weapons around, presumably in the 'right or correct hands' makes things safer, and the other side which believes that (at least some degree of) disarmament creates a safer society.. There are ultimately many answers to be learned, and by attempting to ban questions and ideas, a dangerous bias is revealed. I would posit that "war profiteers," for example, would benefit by eliminating this wiki. I may be wrong. If so, forgive me. sgsNOLA Saturday, August 16, 2008 ([User talk:Sgsmith, nola]) 20:51, 16 August 2008 (UTC) 98.163.217.24 (talk) 03:28, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
