Re: ethnicity[edit]

Hello. I'd like to restore the adjustments I made in March 2020 to this article. MOS:ETHNICITY, you correctly note, suggests that the race or ethnicity of a subject may be included in the lede if it is relevant to that subject's notability, and I do not wish to question your judgment that race is relevant enough to be mentioned in the lede. However, the lede already identifies her as African-American in the second sentence of the lede, and it is confusing to have her race identify her in the place where nationality is typically specified in addition. "Foo is an X Y", as a first-sentence convention, almost always has X as the nationality and Y as the occupation or reason for notability. Also, her nationality is currently specified as "African American" in the infobox, but that is not her nationality, since she was born in South Carolina and not Africa.
