Art style[edit]

Shouldn't there be a line or two about the striking break in art style from the 4 previous seasons? Circeus 20:06, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. While Tamers had a different art style, Savers' style is much different from the past four seasons. I'm getting pretty excited :D--Zippo 12:52, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Is it just me or do the DATS uniforms look like the Earth Sphere uniforms from Gundam SEED almost exactly? I wonder if there's some staff connection.--Kiyosuki 00:37, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the character designer is the same guy who did SEED, I think. Something to that extent. -- Ned Scott 04:50, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm reminded more of Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger than of Gundam Seed.

Does this season make use of cell shading? if so, is it completely or a mix of tradition and cell shading? I like that sentai reverence but sign your comments.74.195.3.199 19:13, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Citing sources[edit]

A great deal of information in Digimon articles simply comes from observation from the show, thus making the show itself the source. Because of this there hasn't always been a lot of source citing in Digimon articles. Digimon Savers articles will be hammered with info in these next few months, much of which can't always be assumed as cited from the show as some of us only speak English. For the time being I would like to ask that extra steps be taken with edits to Savers related articles, and cite new information as much as you can. There are a few ways which you can cite a source in the article, see Wikipedia:Citing sources for the correct tags and details.

For example, we have many Digimon creatures that are new. To prevent fake articles, or articles with incorrect titles, we want to make sure that the sources for these names are good.

Also, you can tag other people's un-cited additions by adding {{citeneeded}} after the statement in question is made. Be sure to state what is it you want cited in either your edit history or in that article's talk page. -- Ned Scott 03:47, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For those who don't want to read the whole Wikipedia:Citing sources article, one method of citing sources within an article is the use of the <ref> tag. For more info see [[m:Cite/Cite.php#<ref>]]. -- Ned Scott 04:43, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There's a wiki page at WP:FOOTNOTE now. Circeus 13:16, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spoilers[edit]

I would also like to ask that people use the {{spoiler}} tag for any major spoilers (and don't forget to close the tag with {{endspoiler}}, so it's specific as to what area on the article is a spoiler and what is not). This might not be necessary for ALL information in the show, so just use common sense. Tag events that are considered "surprises" or major developments in the plot. -- Ned Scott 03:49, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I did but my thing about Ikuto was taken out. Why???—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Educationrecreationinformation (talkcontribs) .
Yes, you did add spoiler tags, but you added speculation, which shouldn't be in a Wikipedia article, per WP:V. Basically, unlike fansites, we can only include the information we are sure on. -- Ned Scott 06:22, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

But it was recently confirmed in V-Jump magazine.-Educationrecreationinformation

If that's true, then you're welcome to include the information. Be sure to mention the V-Jump magazine as the source of info so people will know it's real. -- Ned Scott 18:58, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Digimon Story?[edit]

At "see also", there is mentioned DS game Digimon Story, but it is mentioned nowhere in article. Why? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.139.169.42 (talkcontribs) .

While the game is released at the same time, there usually isn't a direct plot tie in. From what I can see, the Digimon games that get released simply feature Digimon from the current running anime, so there's not really a lot of relation other than that. But if you have anything else to add about the connection between the two, feel free to add it. -- Ned Scott 21:56, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, Masaru, Touma, and Yoshino do appear in it.

Tamers[edit]

Have they actually been called tamers in the series yet? -- Ned Scott 00:27, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nope. Shining Celebi 15:21, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Adding new info[edit]

I know a lot of users are eager to add new info from Digimon Savers, like what the latest evolution of a Digimon is and such, but it might help to just wait till those episodes actually air so you have a verifiable source. Most fan sites and such contain a huge amount of speculation and are generally not seen as "verifiable", at least not as a main source. If you do want to add new info, try to see where the fansite got it's information, and cite that instead. For example, don't cite a fansite because it said it found info off of a Digimon toy, cite the toy itself. But again, remember that according to WP:V that "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth." If you are not sure about something, and you don't have a link or info to back it up, then don't add it until you are sure or you do have that info. -- Ned Scott 05:07, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nanami, Ivan and Kouki[edit]

It´s not clear if these three get Digimon Partners. It is actually more likely that Lotsumon and BioSpinomon are more advanced forms of their original forms. Sure they are shown next to these Digimon, but that was also the case in the first pic of them.

The whole page was destroyed![edit]

Now it's been vandalized into this...fake Digimon. What happened!?

  • She's not fake, just in the wrong place, at the wrong time...

Getting tired of this...[edit]

I think it reaches the point of mediocracy when you take a whole article and reduce it down to a paragraph! I'm talking about the DATS section, which seems to be shrunk from its orgianl size. There is a thing as reaching too much encyclopedic purity. --Eldarone 02:50, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. Some things are not notable, and articles that are composed almost entirely with plot summary is not what Wikipedia is about. -- Ned Scott 03:03, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Then remove plot summary but keep the relavant information in. But there is such a thing as shortening something to inspid portportions. --Eldarone 03:53, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There's nothing but plot summary about DATS. We don't know anything from the views of the writers, directors, etc about the DATS element, nor has there been any significant cultural impact made by that element of the show. You might want to check out Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction). -- Ned Scott 04:13, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not talking about that. I'm more interested in why information about the organization is missing. --Eldarone 16:12, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article Edited by Many IP Addresses[edit]

The whole page has been pretty much kinda messed up because of numerous people editing it. The names of the characters should mostly be in kanji, not part katakana. Anyone think this page should be locked for a bit?

Seriously, it's literally messed up. Eugene2x -- ☺ Nintendo rox! 23:10, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jeff Nimoy addresses the Digi-nation![edit]

According to the Digimon Encyclopedia, Jeff Nimoy has sent a message to various forums on the best Digimon websites that he is asking for their own choices on who should be the actors in the dubbed version of Savers. See here for more info:

America Confirmed![edit]

Is there any news whether or not this will be airing in America? If so, can we get it added? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LoZfan03 (talkcontribs) 12:42, 14 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Is there any proof that Bandai has licensed Savers in America with the dubbed title of Digimon Data Squad?, could you please post a link to an announcement or article that confirms Bandai's licensing of Digimon Savers?

Guido MTY 17:50, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Go here:

http://www.toei-anim.com/ Then go to the bottom left, click on shows, and then Digimon Data Squad.

Also, here's the announcement SakayamonX of TDP left:

Digimon Savers Dub Confirmed!

Digimon Data Squad

The moment you have been all waiting for, Digimon Savers will be dubbed. There is also reason to believe that it won't be dubbed by Disney as well.

Go to Shows -> Digimon Data Squad

Everything seems to be the same, except for Touma being Thomas, and Sunflowmon being Sunflowermon (also Miki + Megumi are referred to as the Miniskirt police). However, this can always be changed in the actual product. --Amigobro2 00:33, 16 March 2007 (UTC) [reply]

You may want to read this, something jpwong said in response to members of With The Will forums thinking Digimon Savers was being dubbed:

Because of the number of people who seem to misunderstand what the other topic is, SAVERS IS NOT ANNOUNCED TO BE LICENSED.

What that site is atm is more likely a site designed for Toei to flaunt their shows in the hopes that someone will pick up a license. Shows listed there may or may not get licensed.

While it seems improbable that Savers won't be licensed, no company has yet announced the fact that they've aquired the licensing rights. The very fact that you don't see this announcement on any of the major sites such as ANN, and that animesuki continues to list digimon as unlicensed shows that there has been no official announcement of a Region 1 dub.

(edit by goc- added a few words to clear it up a bit, since it MAY be licensed, and we just dont know)

To add to what he said, someone on that certain forum said the Bandai dubbing was just a rumour, and if a dub comes to America in the summer it would merely be pure coincidence.

Three days ago the license was announced. Toon Disney has officially acquired the rights for Digimon: Data Squad (a.k.a. Digimon Savers) and will start airing it this fall on Jetix. The announcement can be viewed at ICv2 News Guido MTY 20:20, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know this is kinda aa long shot, but what about the UK? Bluecatcinema 11:31, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just FYI, the Savers logo I uploaded is orphaned and up for deletion. If it no longer required it will be gone in a week or so. Shiroi Hane 22:25, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article Title Explanation?[edit]

Can anyone tell me why the article's title has been changed from it's original Japanese name "Savers" to the American title, "Data Squad" even though all other Digimon articles use their respective Japanese titles? It doesn't make sense in keeping with consistancy. スミス ナサニアル 04:02, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because it's the only Digimon anime to be known by a title other than "Digimon". The only reason the others have the Japanese name is because there is no other name. -- Ned Scott 04:04, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well I'm not going to do anything but may I express my dissappointment by saying, "That kinda stinks." スミス ナサニアル 04:06, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, the dub sucks hard, but we try to go with the name that will be most recognized by English readers. -- Ned Scott 04:12, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What the hell? The dub hasn't even been released yet - how can you have any opinion on whether it sucks or not? Are you really that bigoted?KrytenKoro 23:57, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was talking about past dubs. But hey, thanks for calling me a bigot, that was nice. -- Ned Scott 05:27, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

← Kind of old hat, but I was just on this and wondered about the title myself. I'm not really bothered by using the US title as the main one, but at the end of the day somebody should probably try and edit the article so that it uses either Savers/Data Squad more consistently. As it reads right now there's something of a bouncing around that makes it seem like the two are interchangable (when in reality they have their own character names/areas/etc based on localization changes. 163.231.6.86 (talk) 20:25, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

← This is first and foremost a Japanese series. The original title should hold president over the English dub title. It's intellectually inconsistent with Digimon Adventure, Adventure 02, and Tamers, which were known only as Digimon: Digital Monsters under the Saban English dub. As well as inconsistent with other Wikipedia articles, such as Harry Potter, which lists the first book and movie as the "Philosopher's Stone," not the "Sorcerer's Stone" as it's known in North America.Acdcguy1991 (talk) 02:51, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Acdcguy1991:: Wikipedia policy states that we must use the name most recognizable to casual English readers (see WP:COMMONNAME). Therefore, the article's title should be Digimon: Data Squad (with the original name possibly as a footnote). lullabying (talk) 22:19, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yamaguchi Ryota's notes on Digimon Savers[edit]

There is a lot of information in Yamaguchi Ryota's page for Digimon Savers, that can be used in this article and other Digimon Savers articles. There is a translation of it here. -- 2:03, June 30 2007 (UTC)

Move Localization[edit]

I removed an extensive note about localization of the Digimon Savers movie, as it was a long paragraph without sources. I left the first sentence, with a citation needed -- should the information surface, I suggest adding it back. Currently, I'm finding no actual source for this, so I suggest unless one appears, that the sentence I left tin about localization be deleted. 69.202.68.2 (talk) 01:36, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is the "Disney DVD" info true?[edit]

I'm reading through the article and came across the section titled "Disney DVD". It claims that Data Squad will be released on DVD with five episodes per disc, and then the full series in one set later. Is any of this information true? There are no citations int eh section, nor have I seen any other site mention Data Squad's DVD release. So is it legit or not? If so, what's the source? 72.64.251.61 (talk) 04:53, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Resident Evil 5?[edit]

Why is there a section for Resident Evil 5 on a Digimon Wiki? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.212.38.95 (talk) 17:43, September 17, 2009 (UTC)

It was just vandalism. —Farix (t | c) 23:28, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

List of Characters[edit]

List of Digimon Data Squad Characters deserve to be created just like Adventure, Tamers, Fusion and Appmon have their light of characters page, Humans have their voices and Digimon Partners have their own voices and they have history.
