Lead section[edit]

I think the lead section of this article should start with a statement like: "On the morning of December 26, 1980 the city of Lima awoke to several stray dogs hanging in important avenues. These animals were named Deng Xiaoping's dogs .... The article should then go on to explain who perpetrated the hangings and who came up with the name, what were the reasons, or motives, for these hangings, and why this was done in Lima. The length of the lead section can probably be reduced to a single uncluttered paragraph with the second paragraph moved into the body of the article, and expanded to explain the significance of these hangings in the wider Peruvian context. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 04:47, 4 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
